The Emporia State volleyball team played another five-set match and fell to #24 Missouri Western 25-18, 21-25, 23-25, 25-10, 15-11 at White Auditorium in Emporia on Thursday. ESU was outhit .209 to .072 in the match and committed 37 errors to just 22 for the Griffons. The Lady Hornets were tied at 10-all in the fifth, but the Griffons ended the match on a 5-1 run aided by three ESU attack errors. ESU started slow out of the gate dropping set number one, which head coach Ken Murczek said has been an issue for the Lady Hornets this year.
Weronicka Wrzesinska led ESU with 15 kills while Zuzanna Buchnajzer totaled 10. Rayishon Jackman wore the off-color libero jersey and led the way with 22 digs while Wrzesinska notched a double-double with 15. ESU (15-7, 7-5 MIAA) returns to action to continue a five-game homestand on Friday, November 8 against Fort Hays State. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
