The Kansas Corporation Commission says a scammer is impersonating one of its employees.
Director of Public Relations Linda Berry says the state agency has received at least one report of a person claiming to work with KCC and calling utility customers to offer a 30 percent discount on electric bills — if they provide information about their Medicare or Medicaid eligibility and if they give credit card information so a refund can be applied.
Berry says this person is not an employee and is not affiliated with KCC in any way. If you get such a call, do not provide any information.
