One person was taken to Newman Regional Health following a two-vehicle collision in Emporia Wednesday evening.
Emergency crews were called to the 100 block of Commercial Street at 5:10 p.m. for an injury accident. According to Emporia Police Sgt. Tim Whacker, the accident occurred as a 2001 Mercury Mountaineer was traveling northbound on Commercial.
As it was traveling a separate SUV, make and model not listed, was pulling out of a street parking stall in front of Charlie’s Place and was struck by the Mountaineer. One individual was taken from the scene by ambulance with what Whacker called minor injuries, however, it is unclear which vehicle they were in.
