A Burlington semi driver was involved in a crash that sent two other people to a hospital for treatment Thursday.
The crash happened shortly before 4:15 pm on US Highway 169 in Montgomery County. Troopers with the Kansas Highway Patrol say a minivan driven by 14-year-old Chloe Lowry stopped at the County Road 4800 stop sign and then entered the intersection, failing to yield to a semi driven by 33-year-old Braden Harvey of Burlington. Harvey tried an evasive manuever, but Lowry’s van still hit the semi trailer.
Harvey was not hurt. Lowry and a passenger, 14-year-old Rachel Eichhorn, were both taken to Labette Health with suspected serious injuries.
