The Emporia State volleyball team couldn’t keep pace with #10 Central Oklahoma in a 25-20, 25-15, 25-13 loss to the Bronchos at Hamilton Field House in Edmond, Okla. on Saturday. The first set was competitive with the Lady Hornets rallying to tie the first set 14-all, but the ‘Chos rolled with six straight points and ESU couldn’t respond. The second frame was tied at seven but UCO dominated the rest of the match as ESU had 17 kills in the final two frames against 16 attack errors. Weronika Wrzesinska was the only Lady Hornet in double-figures with 12 kills. ESU (17-9, 9-7 MIAA) now gets a rematch with the #10 Bronchos in the first round of the MIAA Tournament Thursday in St. Joseph, Mo. ESU is the No. 6 seed in the tournament making their second-straight appearance while the Bronchos earned the No. 3 seed and have never missed the event since joining the MIAA in 2012. First serve is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
