Formal charges have been filed against one of two people arrested late last month on suspicion of illegal drug activity.
The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office says a car stop on US Highway 54 on Oct. 25 led to the arrests of Amanda Howell and Christopher Regier — both for suspected possession of cocaine, fentanyl, heroin, marijuana and methamphetamine, as well as possession of paraphernalia and at least one weapon. Both were also arrested on suspicion of having counterfeit currency, while Regier was arrested on suspicion of driving while suspended, driving while being a habitual violator and an out-of-county warrant.
Of the two, court proceedings have been announced on Howell for possessing drugs, paraphernalia and a handgun.
Howell’s first court appearance is Nov. 26 in Eureka.
Separately, a preliminary hearing is coming later this month for a drug distribution case developing in Greenwood County.
The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office says it arrested Wesley Schrock as part of a traffic stop in late October. Schrock has now been charged with distributing less than 50 grams of methamphetamine, as well as possessing marijuana and paraphernalia, interfering with law enforcement and traffic charges. Schrock’s next hearing is Nov. 22.
Additional details about the Schrock case have not been divulged.
