For 33 years KVOE, Emporia State Federal Credit Union and the National Teachers Hall of Fame teamed up to honor and support the best of the best in education Thursday evening.
The annual National Teachers Hall of Fame Radio Auction took over the airwaves and brought in a total of $14,075. The radio auction is always a key part of American Education Week activities in Emporia following the annual USD 253 cookie delivery across district schools which also sees involvement from ESFCU.
ESFCU President and CEO Angie Miller says education is the cornerstone of the credit union and something they look to highlight year-round.
KVOE General Manager Ron Thomas says the radio auction is always an exciting night for all involved.
ESFCU loan officer Jarred Germman was one of the many volunteers on hand to assist with Thursday’s operation. He says when it comes to supporting education and educators all members of the credit union are ready to step up and do what is needed.
COO Joni Vaughn. Vaughn says she and her fellow staff are always happy to go above and beyond for the individuals who do the same in and out of the classroom every day.
Hall of Fame Executive Assistant Bob Haselhuhn tells KVOE News the only thing more impressive than the number of volunteers on hand for the event is the level of generosity shown by both donors and bidders each year.
All proceeds from the radio auction, as always, will go to support NTHF induction activities in Emporia in June.
If you were unable to participate in the radio auction Thursday night, you still have time to bid on items as part of the NTHF online auction which continues at charictyauctionstoday.com through noon Nov. 25. Click here for the online auction link.
