Another business is officially open in northeast Emporia.
Dollar Tree’s store at 920 East 12th, between Goodcents and Old Rum’s Liquor, opened a nearly 10,000-square-foot store to the public Nov. 21. The Dollar Tree store in the 2200 block of Industrial is also open.
The new Dollar Tree follows the opening of the Dillons pharmacy at 904 East 12th, just east of the longstanding Dillons grocery.
The new store also meant the end of the Family Fun Center, including a go-kart track and batting cages. JTS Investments, which secured the platting or layout for the Dollar Tree as part of a 2.6-acre development, and Iron Horse Development, the project developer, have not updated plans for the remaining property.
