Residents and members of the Emporia Symphony Orchestra both embraced the spirit of giving Monday night during the annual ESO Sounds of Christmas concert at Albert Taylor Hall.
In addition to enjoying a great selection of holiday-themed tunes, attendees also had the opportunity to support the work of SOS by donating the agency during the concert. According to ESO Director Joshua Shepherd, Monday’s concert was the best attended in recent memory and generated around $1,300 in funds for SOS.
Shepherd, who is in his first year leading the orchestra, says it is an exciting start to his tenure.
This was the second of four concerts for the ESO 2024/25 performance season and followed the annual Symphonic Spooktacular in October. Up next for ESO will be a Concerto Competition on Monday, February 24 at 7:30 pm inside Albert Taylor Hall.
ESO will host its grand finale for the season on Tuesday, April 22.
