A quartet of Emporia State University students are getting scholarship through the Newman Regional Health Foundation.
Emma Davis, Shelby Fox, Vanessa Peraza-Martinez and Emma Tyson all receive a $3,000 scholarship to support their current education and future career plans. All four are gaining nursing degrees through ESU.
The Newman Regional Health Foundation scholarship program is to encourage students from Lyon and surrounding counties to move into nursing careers with a focus on healthcare in rural areas. Donations from the Dr Charles and Nadine Hopper Nursing Scholarship Fund and Nellie Crawford Scholarship Fund have helped to attract potential nursing students to the area.
