Fundraising continues for the annual Kari’s Christmas Ring for Kids event for SOS.
As has been the case for years, residents can donate money for a chance to win a ring from Kari’s Diamonds and Bridal. The ring this year is a 14-karat white gold diamond and lab-generated ruby ring set with three-quarters carat weight in diamonds along with a 7×5-mm emerald cut center stone. Estimated value is almost $5,900.
Kari’s owner Kari Roulette says the ring should have mass appeal.
The fundraiser follows the KVOE Mitten Tree effort and Neighborhood Toy Drive, as well as recent donations from the Emporia Symphony Orchestra, Lebo Masonic Lodge, Lyon County State Bank, Nex-Tech Wireless and others areawide. SOS Executive Director Mickey Edwards says it has been a great holiday season so far, and the ring fundraiser — benefiting children served by SOS — will add another layer of holiday cheer.
To donate, stop by Kari’s Diamonds and Bridal, 1015 Industrial Road. Suggested donation is $5 per ticket or $20 for five tickets.
