Emporia State University now has hundreds of new graduates after commencement activities Saturday.
President Ken Hush has a sense of pride as the university’s leader, coupled with his status as an alum. He’s also pleased ongoing work to increase enrollment — and the number of future graduates — is paying off.
Regent Wint Winter gave the commencement speech for undergraduates receiving diplomas Saturday morning after Regent Blake Benson did likewise for students receiving graduate-level degrees Friday night. Winter says there is a lot of worth in a college degree.
Returning students will have classes resume Jan. 13. Spring commencement is May 10.
