The leadership path forward for the Emporia Recreation Commission will be among the lead items for the ERC board when it meets Monday.
In separate but related items, the board will discuss hiring a new director and is set to appoint an interim director. These agenda items follow the announced retirement of longtime director Tom McEvoy in October and McEvoy’s public retirement reception this past Friday.
An action item for retaining counsel for Rec Commission business is also on the agenda.
In addition, the board will get leadership team updates. It will also discuss an option of installing LED lights in the Lee Beran Recreation Center, as well as holiday activities through the Rec Commission and a possible grant-writing effort through the Jones Trust to benefit the planned recreation facility at Champions Landing.
Monday’s meeting will be at 5:30 pm at the Lee Beran Recreation Center.
