Newman Regional Health has a busy week when it comes to community events.
First up, Tuesday, is the annual Cookies for Claus. Newman Regional Health Volunteers Coordinator Deb Storrer says this is a chance for members of the volunteer corps to show off their holiday baking skills.
Proceeds from the sale of treats and raffle tickets all go to healthcare scholarships.
Following that longstanding tradition is a revamped Santa Stop, which will be Thursday. Public Relations and Outreach Specialist Kacie Hastings:
Cookies for Claus begins at 8 am Tuesday at the hospital’s serpentine hallway and is tentatively set to go until 1 pm, although treats have sold out early in past years. Santa Stop, meanwhile, is from 6-7:30 pm Thursday at Entrance C, or the main entrance on the north side of the hospital campus. Residents are asked to bring non-perishable food items for the Salvation Army.
