A Halstead woman was hurt in a crash near Emporia well before sunrise Sunday.
The wreck was reported shortly before 3 am at Interstate 35 mile marker 132, or between the Burlingame and East Sixth Avenue exits. Lyon County Deputy Nathan Rankin says deputies and emergency responders found a minivan in a ditch when they arrived.
Rankin says the driver, 66-year-old Laura La Vonne Ellis, was southbound and lost control of the van. The vehicle went into the median, went across both southbound traffic lanes and stopped in the north ditch.
Ellis went to Newman Regional Health for treatment of suspected minor injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the wreck.
