Emporia city commissioners are meeting Wednesday.
During their action session, commissioners could approve a rezoning request for 1116 and 1120 Constitution from Multi-Family to Flex Use High before possibly setting a public hearing date involving a Reinvestment Housing Incentive District proposal for the 502 Lofts renovation project at 502 Commercial.
Separately, commissioners could issue a resolution repealing a previous resolution setting March 4 as the date for the special election about a one-percent sales tax for the proposed public recreation facility at Champions Landing.
An equipment purchase for Lift Station 15, a lease agreement with Nex-Tech Wireless for equipment on top of the southeast Emporia water tower on Warren Way and an executive session for economic development matters are also on the action meeting agenda.
The study session will see conversations about procedures for filling City Commission vacancies, contractual provisions, an ordinance for the industrial user rate formula for sewage waste stream pretreatment and the creation of a Public Building Commission to issue bonds for the Emporia Fire Department headquarters building currently in early stages of construction.
The action meeting begins at 11 am at the Municipal Court Room. The study meeting follows at City Conference Room 1AB.
