The Emporia High boys swim team got three state consideration times en route to a third-place finish at Shawnee Mission West on Tuesday.
Logan Woydziak earned his second state consideration time with a time of 54.26 in the 100-yard freestyle to win the event. Luke Marshall earned a state consideration time in the 50-yard freestyle (24,72, fourth). The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Woydziak, Marshall, Beckett Schultz, and Collin Moody also earned a consideration time finishing third at 1:43.76. Woydziak finished second in the 50 free (23.88).
Owen Dawson (2:27.07) and Brayden Shaw (2:27.75) finished sixth and seventh respectively in the 200-yard freestyle. Taegan Kelley finished fifth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:54.84). Schultz finished sixth in the 100-yard freestyle (1:02.43). Shaw finished fourth in the 500-yard freestyle (6:59.25), while Rylan Navarro finished in a tie for fifth (7:09.21) and Dawson took seventh (7:12.83). Hunter Symmonds (1:23.28), Brayden Sweet (1:34.93), and Cooper Vahsholtz (1:35.30) finished sixth, eight,h and ninth respectively in the 100-yard backstroke. Kelley finished ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:24.37).
Emporia High returns to action in the 2025 portion of its schedule with its second home meet on Jan. 2.
