A reported structure fire near Allen on Thursday turned out not to be the case.
Allen-Admire and Lyon County District 4, or Emporia’s rural fire unit, both responded to the 2900 block of Road L after report of a fire coming from an outdoor wood stove. Emporia Fire Capt. Wade Schmidt says there was no actual fire. A spark arrestor was largely acting as it should, although it was plugged.
No injuries were reported.
