Emporia High junior Alexa Castillo finished second at 235 in the Ladycat Classic hosted by Basehor-Linwood on Saturday.
Castillo went 4-1 on the day losing in the championship match to Gianna Redcorn of Kapaun Mt. Carmel by a 7-0 decision. Other placers for the Lady Spartans included Allison Curtis, 13th at 100, Sienna Spaulding, 8th at 105, Chloe Steele, 15th at 110, Heily Batres, 11th at 115, Kensley Medrano, 17th at 120, Karah Cooper, 20th at 125, Adriell Aguilar, 23rd at 130, Mia Gardner, 18th at 135, Karla Rodriguez, 25th at 140, Yaneli Carranza, 14th at 145, Lixy Lainze Rosas, 17th at 155, Marisol Renteria-Villator, 23rd at 170 and Gabby Duarte, 10th at 190. As a team, the Lady Spartans finished in a tie for 14th with 83.5 points.
Emporia High is off until Jan. 7 when it travels to Spring Hill for a dual.
