Two defendants in an Emporia aggravated robbery case will continue the court process next month.
First apperances were held Monday for 23-year-old Sheantel Thompson of Sedan and 24-year-old Malik Dorsey of Emporia. Judge Doug Jones set preliminary hearing dates for Jan. 13 in Thompson’s case and Jan. 15 in Dorsey’s case.
Jones also set bond at $100,000 for both defendants, mandating no direct or indirect contact with the alleged victim or endorsed witnesses as the cases go forward.
Both were arrested Wednesday and subsequently charged with aggravated robbery. Thompson also has single counts of aggravated witness or victim intimidation, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Emporia Police are not divulging more information about the case.

An Emporia man and Sedan woman face aggravated robbery and other charges after an alleged incident in Lyon County earlier this month.
Malik William Dorsey, age 24 of Emporia, and Sheantel Tyler Thompson, age 23 of Sedan, were arrested this past Wednesday by Emporia Police after an alleged incident earlier that day. Further details are not being divulged.
Of the two, Thompson faces the longer list of charges. She is facing single counts of aggravated robbery, aggravated witness or victim intimidation, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dorsey, meanwhile, faces one count of aggravated robbery.
Both Dorsey and Thompson are set for their first appearances in Lyon County District Court shortly after 1 pm Monday.
