The Salvation Army of Emporia is in the final hours of its annual Red Kettle Campaign and it is right near its fundraising goal.
During an appearance on KVOE’s Morning Show Monday, Salvation Army Captain Mylie Hadden offered an update on the campaign saying they are right around $1,500 away from their $50,000 fundraising total.
Hadden would note she is extremely confident they will hit their goal by Tuesday afternoon noting that in addition to the dollars dropped in kettles, they also tend to see several checks and donations pass through their office this time of year.
Hadden would offer a big thank you to the local community for its support this year adding that while sponsorships may have been down, community support never waned. Hadden noted the Salvation Army is only “as strong as our community support and we really serve the entire community.”
Captain Hadden would also note that special bell-ringing events once again played a big role in the success of the campaign. This included an effort from Hadden’s advisory board this past weekend as well as the annual media challenge at the start of the month, Real Estate Wednesday and the Badges United effort two weeks ago.
