Dense fog is possible across the KVOE listening area for the second straight morning.
The National Weather Service has all area counties under official dense fog advisories until noon Thursday, reflecting potential visibilities of a quarter-mile or less at times.
This follows dense fog advisories for Lyon and most surrounding counties on Christmas Day. Visibility in Emporia went below two blocks at times before the fog dissipated.
More dense fog is possible Thursday night into Friday afternoon, and there is also a slight chance of rain and/or drizzle Thursday and Friday. More fog is possible Saturday morning before conditions finally improve later that day.
If driving through fog, slow down, use low-beam headlights and increase the driving distance between vehicles.
Rain totals are not impressive and are not expected to be Thursday:
*KVOE studios: 0.05 inches
*Emporia Municipal Airport: 0.03 inches
*1100 block Constitution: 0.02 inches
Up to 0.10 inches of rainfall is possible through sunrise Friday.

After saying dense fog was possible but patchy earlier in the day, the National Weather Service issued dense fog advisories areawide, indicating more widespread fog issues. Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties are in one advisory from 7 pm Wednesday to noon Thursday.
