Emporia Senior Center Director Carla Fessler and the Senior Center Board of Directors continue working to develop partnerships and bring more people to the facility.
One of the most recent partnerships involved computers donated by Emporia State University’s Cybersecurity Research + Outreach Center. Senior Center Director Carla Fessler says the partnership will expand early next year.
There are several services and other activities available through the center, ranging from foot care to exercise options to art classes to “Brain Break Fridays” to bingo. Pop-up meals began this past summer.
Fessler says a significant grant-writing effort will begin early next year. One of her planned projects for next year is to get matching tables and chairs for the facility.
Fessler was hired as director in April, following the five-year tenure of Ian Boyd.
