So when are we going to see something resembling winter weather conditions?
National Weather Service meteorologist Nathan Griesemer tells KVOE News January could see more seasonal conditions.
December has seen temperatures almost four degrees above normal so far. The pattern has also been virtually dry throughout December aside from Thursday’s drizzle and light rainfall.
Griesemer says true winter weather is a ways off, but he encourages residents to make sure they plan ahead for winter weather, especially when it comes to travel. Griesemer says people need an emergency kit, with suggested items including blankets, bottled water, non-perishable food, cell phone charger, ice scraper, jumper cables, flashlight with working batteries and a first-aid kit.
