Greenwood County deputies made several arrests of note on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
Caden West
The alleged discovery of a stolen vehicle from Emporia is part of an arrest in Greenwood County last week.
The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy conducted a vehicle stop on US Highway 54 on Christmas Eve, leading to the arrest of Caden Joseph West, age and hometown not listed, on suspicion of felony identity theft, felony interference with law enforcement and driving without a license. The Sheriff’s Office also says the stolen vehicle designation was discovered as part of the resulting investigation.
West has been officially charged with identity theft and interference. He has also been charged with driving while suspended, third or subsequent offense.
A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 31.
Authorities have not said whether the Greenwood County case is connected to a developing criminal case in Lyon County. West is charged with one count of theft, with an alternate of criminal deprivation of a motor vehicle, after a truck was allegedly stolen on Christmas Eve. No court dates have posted the Kansas District Court Public Access Portal.
