With the ripple effects of two major business closure announcements from last month still moving through the community, CrossWinds Counseling and Wellness is announcing several steps to help those impacted.
CrossWinds has set up free support and resources for all staff at both Holiday Resort and Tyson Foods through Feb. 28, including free intake, at least one follow-up session and virtual support groups.
Same-day intakes will be available for English-speaking residents at the Sauder Family Center, 1519 Merchant, and for Spanish-speaking residents at El Centro, 310 Commercial, on Thursdays. Virtual support groups will be meeting over Microsoft Teams, an app similar to Zoom.
This availability of services follows the closure announcement from Tyson on Dec. 3, followed the next day by an announcement from Holiday Resort. It also precedes the community job and resource fair this upcoming Wednesday at the Lyon County Fairgrounds.
Schedules for the aforementioned CrossWinds services benefiting Tyson and Holiday Resort workers can be found below. More information is available by calling CrossWinds at 620-343-2211 or by going online to crosswindsks.org.
