One person was arrested after a narcotics investigation in central Emporia led to a barricade situation, according to Emporia Police.
Officers say they executed a search warrant at 917 Lawrence around 10:15 am Saturday. During the search, a person barricaded himself in the house.
With the person’s armed status unknown and with pedestrians in the area, officers asked those near the scene to shelter in place for a short time. Officers also say the barricade situation was handled without injuries to anybody and the shelter-in-place alert was canceled.
Officers arrested 27-year-old Rafael Munuz Garcia of Topeka for suspected distribution of methamphetamine. Formal charges are pending.
