The Emporia Community Foundation is starting the new year with an announcement about grant funding to several area entities.
The Community Foundation Grants Committee is providing over $22,000 in grants to nine different nonprofits:
*Boys & Girls Clubs of South-Central Kansas: $3,000 for scholarships.
*Dwight Community Development Corporation: $3,000 for window replacements.
*Greenwood County Health Department: $2,500 for a Peek-A-Boo Pantry.
*Hamilton City Library: $3,000 for the purchase of computers.
*Imaginarium: $3,000 toward expansion efforts.
*Integrated Behavioral Technologies: $2,400 for an ABA Start Up Set for each child served.
*Southern Lyon County Unified School District 252: $900 for the purchase of Slumberkins animals and books.
*Southwick House: $3,000 in support of the capital campaign for transitional housing.
*St. Mark’s Lutheran Church: $1,500 for handicap parking spaces.
Grants through this program are designed to support desired projects that recipients may not be able to complete due to funding constraints. These funds are also meant for programs in certain community needs categories like cultural affairs, education, health, recreation and social services.
