Lyon County government is officially saying farewell to three longstanding public servants this month.
Retirement receptions are planned for County Commission Chair Rollie Martin, County Attorney Marc Goodman and County Clerk Tammy Vopat.
Martin has served 15 years on the County Commission, with most of his time as the commission chair. Goodman has led the County Attorney’s Office 24 years, while Vopat has been County Clerk for 16 years after seven years in the County Appraiser’s Office.
Celebrations will be from 1-4 pm Jan. 9 for Martin, as well as 1-4 pm Jan. 10 for Vopat and 2 pm Jan. 10 for Goodman. Receptions will be at the Lyon County Courthouse Jury Assembly Room.
In November, voters chose Chris Bartel to replace Martin on the County Commission. Assistant County Clerk and Deputy Election Officer Amie Jackson is the new County Clerk and Election Officer. First Assistant Attorney Amy Aranda will be the new County Attorney.
