Lyon County Commissioners have presentations, invoices and engineering matters to consider when they convene for their regular meeting Thursday morning.
Commissioners will first consider approving a resolution from Lyon County Controller Dan Williams to waive GAAP requirements in K.S.A. 75-1120. Williams will also submit an invoice from KCAMP for the annual liability insurance premium for just over $530,000 as well as a better than $100,000 transfer from the county’s general fund to the tort liability fund.
County Engineer Chip Woods will submit a better than $334,000 quote from G.W. Van Keppel Company for an updated oil distributor with plans to trade in the county’s 2002 model distributor. Woods will also seek approval of a resolution adopting the 2023 annual review of the solid waste management plan of Chase County, the City of Emporia and Lyon County.
Finally, commissioners will receive a presentation on “The Wall That Heals” from Richelle Birk. Three executive sessions, one for legal matters and the others for non-elected personnel, are also planned.
This will be the final meeting for longtime Lyon County Commission Chairman and District 3 Commissioner Rollie Martin as he is set to enter retirement at the end of his term next week. A reception will take place from 1-4 pm for Martin in the Lyon County Courthouse jury assembly room.
Thursday’s meeting will begin at 9 am inside of the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
