The Emporia High bowling teams are set to open the season this weekend in the Bishop Carroll Baker’s Invitational.
The Spartans return four including state placer Caydrick Crouch, Colton Swift, Morgan Liggett and Nate Green. Liggett, Crouch and Swift are bowlers to watch in Class 5A according to KSHSAA Covered. Liggett said it’s exciting to know the Spartans have a core group back.
The Lady Spartans have one returner back with junior Taylor McKay. McKay said she’s excited to be a leader this season.
Emporia High coach Amy Martin said both teams have potential starting with this weekend’s tournament.
Emporia High’s first home invitational is next Thursday at Flint Hills Lanes.
