The Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce has started its annual awards announcements with its Business of the Year recipient.
Flint Hills Towing was named Friday, with the Chamber mentioning economic contributions, customer service and community involvement as reasons for the award. Owned by Richelle and Jason Birk, Flint Hills Towing started in 1978. Chamber President Jeanine McKenna says the Birks “exemplify the spirit of entrepreneurship and community service.”
The Business of the Year honor, along with Volunteer of the Year and Lifetime Achievement honor, will officially be recognized during the Chamber’s Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony on Jan. 24 at the Emporia State Memorial Union.
