A North Carolina man was injured after an alleged hit-and-run incident in Chase County Saturday morning.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at Interstate 35 mile marker 97 southbound in Chase County just before 9:40 am. KHP says an unknown vehicle was backing up towards a 2023 Volvo TR whose driver, 41-year-old Joshua Vaden of Pleasant Garden, North Carolina, was standing behind the unknown vehicle.
Vaden was struck by the vehicle which then collided with the Volvo and reportedly fled the scene. Vaden was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita with suspected serious injuries.
Details on the suspect vehicle have not been released.
