Flint Hills Towing Owners Jason and Richelle Birk are honored and humbled to be recognized as the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce Business of The Year.
The Birks spoke with KVOE News on Monday, just a few short days after the announcement. Flint Hills Towing has been in business since 1978 and was purchased by the Birks in November of 2020.
In a news release announcing the selection, Chamber President and CEO Jeanine McKenna stated the Birks “exemplify the spirit of entrepreneurship and community service.” That was a meaningful statement to Jason Birk.
Richelle Birk says more than just the accomplishment itself, the announcement’s timing was also very special.
Announcements are currently pending for the Chamber’s Volunteer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement honor and Community Impact Award. All of these awards will be officially recognized during the Chamber’s annual meeting on Friday, January 24 inside of the Emporia State Memorial Union.
