Evergy’s work helping fellow utilities across Kansas, Missouri and other states has earned it a special recognition.
Edison Electric Institute has named Evergy as an Emergency Response Award recipient, reflecting Evergy’s recovery and help efforts after natural disasters and other weather-related events.
Evergy takes home two awards, both for its storm response. Evergy was involved in the response after Memorial Day weekend storm activity knocked out power to over 140,000 electric customers in Kansas and Missouri, downing numerous large trees in the process. Evergy is also honored for its help following Hurricane Helene, sending more than 120 line workers and 200 contractors to recovery zones in Indiana and Kentucky.
