For the second time in two years, Flint Hills Technical College’s nursing program achieved a perfect first-time pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination.
The NCLEX-PN is a test that nursing students must pass in the United States, Canada and Australia to practice as licensed nurses. Students achieved a 100 percent rate for 2024, surpassing the 2023 mark by five percent, matching the college’s percentage from 2022.
FHTC’s rate is also well above the national average of 90 percent. In a recent news release, FHTC Director of Nursing Juli Heitman stated, “This accomplishment is a reflection of dedicated past and present nursing faculty.”
She added the accomplishment is “Further strengthened by our collaborative partnerships with clinical sites throughout the Emporia region, where our students gain invaluable hands-on experience that compliments their academic foundation.”
Since 2019 FHTC has maintained a first-time pass rate of 85 percent or higher.
