Emporia Main Street is asking residents to set aside 10 minutes of their time to fill out a survey designed to make downtown Emporia even more accessible and attractive.
The survey asks a range of questions, including basic demographic information, how often people visit downtown Emporia, top three concerns facing downtown, most-frequently-visited businesses and top three desired business types for downtown. Main Street Director Casey Woods says downtown was the focus for several reasons, adding people nationally may not be “accessing their communities” in the same ways they did before the COVID-19 pandemic.
The survey runs through the end of January. Representatives from Main Street America will come to Emporia near the end of February to discuss the survey findings. Woods says survey results will be publicized, although the format is to be determined.
The survey effort comes as Main Street gears up for its annual auction featuring Dueling Pianos on Feb. 21 and The Taste on April 12.
