The Osage City boys basketball avenged an early season loss to Chase County for the lone upset of Day 2 of the Flint Hills Shootout on Tuesday at White Auditorium.
Osage City defeated Chase County, 49-41. Osage City was led by Kasen Parsons, scoring 22, while Chase County got 17 from Wyatt Griffin. Osage City will play Council Grove in the second semifinal at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Council Grove defeated Lyndon, 45-20 behind 24 points from Brycen Palmquist. The first semifinal at 6 p.m. Friday will be between Mission Valley and Wabaunsee. Mission Valley defeated Cair Paravel, 50-48, while Wabaunsee defeated West Franklin 53-50. Friday’s action will begin at 3 p.m. with Cair Paravel taking on West Franklin followed by Lyndon and Chase County at 4:30 p.m. The evening session of Friday’s action will air on Country 101.7 and streaming audio and video at KVOE.com/TV.
Girls semifinals will take center stage on Wednesday with the consolation semifinals first with Wabaunsee taking on Council Grove at 3 p.m. followed by Cair Paravel taking on West Franklin at 4:30 p.m. The championship semifinals will air on Country 101.7 and KVOE.com/TV beginning at 6 p.m. with Mission Valley taking on Chase County followed by Lyndon and Osage City at 7:30 p.m.
