A stabbing incident near downtown Emporia last summer has led to probation for the defendants.
Following her conviction on single counts of aggravated battery and interference with law enforcement in December, Raena Grana was sentenced to two years probation with an underlying prison term of a year for probation violations on the aggravated battery count. She also officially got two years probation for interfering with law enforcement and an underlying prison term of eight months for probation violations, but the interference count is being served concurrently — not consecutively — with the aggravated battery count.
Co-defendant Gary Grana was sentenced separately to six month probation with an underlying jail term of 30 days after pleading no contest to disorderly conduct in October.
The Granas were accused of being involved in a stabbing at 1101 Congress in early June. The victim survived.
