Sentencing is slated for early March after an Emporia man accepted a plea agreement for mistreating a dependent adult or elder person this week.
Jacob Lee Leiszler pleaded no contest to one of the two counts against him, specifically the one accusing him of taking between $25,000 and $100,000 from the victim between early April and early November 2024. The second mistreatment count, accusing Leiszler of inflicting injury, “unreasonable confinement or unreasonable punishment” on the victim was dropped, as was the alternate of aggravated battery.
As part of the plea agreement, Leiszler agrees to a mental health evaluation and to pay restitution.
Sentencing is March 5.
