The Emporia State tennis teams are picked in the middle of the pack in their preseason tennis polls. The Hornets were slotted fourth in the North Division of The MIAA/GAC tennis poll. Washburn was the unanimous favorite receiving 10 first place votes while Nebraska-Kearney was picked second in the division and earned one vote with coaches are unable to vote for their own team. Harding was picked to win the South Division. The Lady Hornets were picked sixth in the preseason MIAA women’s tennis poll. Washburn was picked first with eight first place votes while Nebraska-Kearney was second and Central Oklahoma was third with each garnering one first place vote. The E-State men will open their season at home at the Kossover Family Tennis Complex hosting Pratt Community College on Friday, February 7 while the Lady Hornets will have their season opener the next day in a duel with Ottawa.
