Wabaunsee County has obtained funding through the state’s Strategic Economic Expansion and Development grant program.
The SEED program is designed to benefit communities with maximum populations of 5,000 people. It is also directed to revitalization or economic development projects in four categories: childcare and senior programming; community vibrancy; food retail; and libraries.
Wabaunsee County received $22,500 for childcare and senior programming. Specifics have not been announced.
Over $250,000 was distributed across Kansas as part of this announcement. Funding comes from the Technology Enabled Fiduciary Financial Institutions Development and Expansion Fund and is administered by the Kansas Department of Commerce.
