Two area state senators have new committee assignments.
17th District Senator Mike Argabright of Olpe has been named to the Senate Select Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. The committee will meet as needed to discuss issues and potential legislation relating to veterans.
Argabright, in his first term serving the district, is also a member of the Transportation, Judiciary, Education and Financial Institutions and Insurance committees. The 17th District includes Lyon, Morris and Geary counties.
Meanwhile, 14th District Senator Michael Fagg has been named to the Joint Committee on Fiduciary Finance Institutions Oversight. Fagg, an El Dorado resident, already chairs the Utilities Committee, as well as the Corrections and Public Safety Subcommittee and the 2024 Special Committee on Medical Marijuana. He’s also the vice chair for the Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee.
Fagg’s district includes Chase and Greenwood counties in the KVOE listening area.
