The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services is asking residents to pay attention to phone calls revolving around “plastic Medicare cards.”
KDADS says any discussion about plastic cards are an automatic indicator of scam activity. Medicare cards are paper, not plastic. They are also colored red, white and blue — and KDADS says residents can request replacements at any time by going online to Medicare.gov if they have set up a portal account.
Residents who have received calls about plastic Medicare cards and shared personal information can call KDADS at 800-860-5260 for “free, confidential and unbiased assistance.”
