Emporia State football was honored with two Academic All-Americans on Tuesday. Wide receiver Tyler Kahmann and defensive back Tyler Schultze earned First Team Academic All-American honors. Kahmann graduated with a 4.0 graduate GPA in business and is a Consensus First Team All-American after his historic final season. Kahmann led the nation in receiving yards and catches per game while also leading the country in touchdowns. Kahmann is the Hornet career record holder in almost every major statistical receiving category including yards and touchdowns. Schultze has a 3.98 GPA in physics and was a Third Team All-MIAA choice at defensive back who led ‘The Association’ in interceptions with five. Schultze finished second in the league and sixth in the country in passes defended. It is the ninth-straight year that a Hornet football player has earned Academic All-American honors for the longest active streak in NCAA Division II.
