Emporia State is augmenting its Founders Day activities with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
ESU will officially open the Donald Reichardt Center for Publishing and Literary Arts at 2:30 pm Feb. 14, following the official Founders Day ceremonies at the Memorial Union beginning at noon.
Located at Plumb Hall Suite 407, the brand-new Reichardt Center is a fully-functional podcasting and cinematography studio for artists, influencers, podcasters, filmmakers and creators. ESU says students, faculty, staff and community members will be welcome to use the new space.
Founders Day activities at the Memorial Union will involve a buffet provided by Fresh Ideas, recognition of Kellogg Society members that set up legacy gifts for ESU and the announcement of the 1863 essay contest winners. There will also be a Friends of Memorial Union tour and social gathering as that facility celebrates its 100th year of serving the university and community.
Registration for the Founders Day event is $10 a person and is due Feb. 5.
