USD 386 Madison-Virgil has three superintendent candidate interviews this week.
Current Superintendent Tammy Baird says Hartford-Neosho Rapids Principal Lewis Whitson is the first candidate to go before the district’s Board of Education, doing so at 5 pm Monday as part of a special board meeting at Madison High School. Baird says the district will announce its two other finalists on the day of their respective interviews, which will be Wednesday and Thursday.
Baird is retiring at the end of the school year in June, wrapping up a better than 30-year career in education. She has been Madison-Virgil’s superintendent the last two years, following Steve Jowers, and she has served as the district’s junior-senior high school principal the last four years.
