An Emporia pharmacy’s operations are set to be transitioned over to Newman Regional Health next month.
Haag Pharmacy announced Wednesday morning the pharmacy will transition to Newman Community Rx. Haag Pharmacy has been serving Emporia and surrounding communities since 1885 and is the longest-ongoing business in Lyon County.
The change in ownership and name will occur on March 1, with many things remaining the same. Newman Community Rx will continue to provide patient care services that go above and beyond just medications. Besides offering traditional pharmacy services, Newman Community Rx will continue to specialize in a variety of niche pharmacy services including medication synchronization, compounding services, medication therapy management, hormone replacement therapy, compliance packaging, immunizations, their exclusive N+Addition line of nutritional supplements, and special packaging for patients residing in assisted living/long-term care facilities.
Pharmacists Amber Haag, Don Payne, Melissa Jackson, and Roger Storrer will continue to lead the current staff in all aspects of dispensing and clinical services. Certified Pharmacy Technician and Certified Fitter of Therapeutic Shoes Debra Madsen will continue to specialize in diabetic/therapeutic footwear.
Haag will talk more about the changes at 7:45 a.m. Friday while Newman Regional Health Administrators will have more information during KVOE’s Talk of Emporia at 11:06 a.m. Friday.
