A nearly 20-year emergency communications veteran is being recognized for their service and dedication to the profession nationally.
Lyon County Emergency Communications Center Director Roxanne VanGundy announced via a news release Friday that Sarah Jensen has been selected to receive the 2025 NG911 Institute Public Safety Professional of the Year award. In the previously mentioned news release, VanGundy stated Jensen “exemplifies everything a public safety professional should be. Her leadership, dedication, and passion for serving the community make a real difference every day. We are incredibly proud of her.”
Jensen is a 17-year Lyon County Emergency Communications veteran and currently serves as a shift supervisor. Jensen will be officially recognized at the NG911 Institute’s Honor Reception in Washington D.C. on February 25.
NG911 is a national non-profit organization based in Washington D.C. Founded in 2003, NG911 works in conjunction with the Congressional NextGen 911 Caucus to develop and promote the deployment of advanced and effective 911 and Next Generation 911 (NG911) services across the country.
