The Kansas Department of Agriculture wants feedback on the use of — and best practices for — native tallgrass pasture use.
The 2025 Bluestem Pasture Survey is now active online. Questions ask about the availability of native tallgrass pasture, leasing rates and fencing rates.
Ag Secretary Mike Beam says the survey is important because native tallgrass offers grazing opportunities for livestock and the survey can help both landowners and renters discussing lease agreements.
